  1. And to think I used to take on flak for being an early reader of Stephen King (Rita Hayworth And The Shawshank Redemption a novella, Raquel replaces Rita in the film, time frame a little different).

  2. This is the worst ever analysis of a movie. This is not a christian movie nor has anything to do with religion!!! it is such stupidity that you analyse it as it represents what you mentioned, I will never ever get back my 9 minutes (7mintues watching and 2 writing this). Don't do them again. Waste of time.

  3. I am 31 years old and just watched Shawshank Redemption. I’m glad I didn’t watch it when I was younger. I may have not understood or appreciated it as much as I do now. It’s a masterpiece.

  4. I had never really thought of the Shawshank redemption as a religious film before. A film of hope and friendship, an incredible cinematic masterpiece I could watch 20 times a day. Sure. But a religious film? NEVER.

This video however made perfect sense of that point of view for me keep up the insightful and incredible content dude!!!

  5. What a ridiculous “hidden-meaning” take on a brilliant movie. More to do with how a bible-thumping Warden and many others in similar positions of authority, are nothing but a bunch of grifting crooks (see #45) who hijack Christianity to satisfy their own narcissistic needs.

  6. That was Disturbing…. Congrats BORN AGAIN… Whats Next??? Your take on… "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"…
Possibly.. The Second Grestest Christian Movie made of All Time… ??? PATHETIC X 10000……………

  7. Shawshank is not merely a religious movie. Andy is a free thinker – free of the captivity of regulated dogma, corrupt officials using biblical laws and references as well as a hollow Bible to repress thought. Andy introduces books to open their minds and Mozart's Sull Aria to set their minds free. Steven King allows for an open-ended, brilliant piece of cinematic art.

  8. Why didn't God prevent Andy from incarcerated? Why did he have to lose so much or endure so such suffering? Red is the ONLY guilty man?!
Rather, he's the only one to admit it..for dramatic effect.
